June 22, 2007—June 22, 2007
9:30 AM–4:00 PM

Do you own some woods? Are you looking for ideas about how you can make money from your woods? Are you looking for information about how to get started managing your woods or running a woods-based business? If you answered YES to any of these questions, this workshop is for you!

This will be a two part workshop, in which participants can sign up for the marketing session on June 22, the management session on June 27, or BOTH. Lunch will be provided on both dates, and participants will receive a comprehensive resource binder.

The first session (June 22) in this two-part series will cover how to start and operate a business, potential woods-based markets, and resources that are available to you.

The second session (June 27) will be very hands-on, with participants learning about tree measurements and forestry tools, and how to manage for the markets discussed in the first session.

Location: Virginia Horse Center
Lexington, VA

Registration: Cost for both workshops is $35 per person/$40 per household, or $25 per person/$30 per household for one session.

Directions: I-81 to Exit 191. Proceed on I-64 West 1/2 mile to Exit 55. Turn right on Route 11 North, and immediately left on Route 39 West. The Virginia Horse Center is one mile ahead on the left.
